[The Feral Folk are] pushing themselves into the wild spaces of song — their songs drawing inspiration not from cities or notions of paradise, but from the tangled, wild, softly human places, from what John Keats called “nature’s observatory.”

Crafting heart hooking melodies for ecstatic animals, The Feral Folk create music steeped in magical realism. Influenced by witchy greats like Tori Amos and Stevie Nicks, Allie LaRoe invites listeners out of the real world; turning even mundane heartache into a call to adventure. Patrick James alchemical knowledge of songcraft and Jeffrey Scott’s gravitational Bass blend with LaRoe’s whimsey to open portals into whole new ways of seeing.

With over a decade of experience as a solo singer songwriter under her belt (formerly as Abi Grace), 2015 found AllieLaRoe ready to expand her sound and write music that people would never mistake for “sweet”. After a fair amount of convincing and a demo of her song Sharp Teeth recorded in her bedroom (you can still find it on Spotify) Allie convinced Scott and James to work with her for a few songs to debut at the Olympia Acoustic Festival in Spring of 2016. The band gelled, going on tour to Montana and playing multiple shows around Washington state and their home base of Seattle before releasing their debut album, Feral as Folk, that fall.

Most Notably, they have opened for Becca Stevens at The Nectar Lounge in 2017, scored a monthly spot at Leavenworth’s The Stein, and recently headlined their own show with Temple Canyon and Drea Marilyn at the legendary Conor Byrne in Seattle on August 19th,2021.

Allie also performs more subdued but equally emotionally potent versions of the bands song as a solo act at private events, smaller performances spaces, breweries, and wineries including one of Microsoft’s holiday parties two years in a row, Trevori Cellars, J. Bookwalter Tasting Room and more.
